Classes 165,465 PRM Toilets and Wheelchair Spaces

The introduction of the Railways Interoperability Regulation 2011 (RIR 2011) required rail operators to refit existing rolling stock to allow greater access for Persons of Restricted Mobility (PRM). This required fitment of PRM toilets and wheelchair access/space on some vehicles. Deeo was contracted to assist leading rolling stock engineering consultancy DB ESG to engineer, design and detail changes to Class 165 and Class 465 vehicles. Deeo was involved in fitment of the PRM toilet and associated water and refuse tanks, saloon partitions and generating new seating arrangements and analysing them for their suitability for installation in existing vehicle structures.
