S-ATS Proposal 

S-ATS stands for a Semi-Autonomous Transit System, a DEEO developed proposal for a Transit System for growing urban environments. S-ATS is offered as an alternative to increasing road and rail infrastructure.  

S-ATS is aimed at easing the ever-growing concern of traffic conditions within modern cities, link previously isolated communities, increase the capacity of transport within a built-up area, ensure Co2 reduction targets through the reduction  of vehicle traffic and to deliver a flexible modular transport system with reduced initial cost of construction (-40%) and vehicle purchase and in-service cost (-25%) 

S-ATS features include: 

Interchangeable battery powered transit system with on route boost charging 

3rd level autonomy’ (Driver for emergency only) 

Vehicle 

Vehicle completely recyclable 

Minimal city infrastructure development / disruption – No Track / Catenary requirement 

Vehicle following coloured road route marking enabling citizens understanding of vehicle cycles 

Fully connected service allowing any service change to be automatically informed to the citizen
